Books

I will often put some of my favorite reads in this spot along with the books I have written myself with the links to purchase them. I hope you enjoy this corner of my blog where you can find inspirational thoughts of authors that I have learned from.  For me, it's  hard to beat a quite moment by the fire with a good book, not unless your outside on a beautiful spring day sipping on ice tea as the book beacons you by name, as if to say, "Can I steal your thoughts, imagination, and your ability to escape to where my mind once took me." I absolutely adore reading, learning, and escaping to another world with characters who draw you in with simple words that paint a picture as if  they were your neighbors and their story was somehow linked to yours. Listen, I don't just read a book. I become one of the characters, the main character to be precise, skipping along as if I wrote the story myself, as if I created the backdrop, as if at any moment I could jump off the pages and into your space, revealing the end before it's time. Reading takes you to a place in your mind that your body may never see. It's an adventure for the soul, and food for the adventurous. If you don't like reading, it's simply because you have yet to read a good book.

To purchase any of my books you can go to Amazon or directly to our ministry's web page. All of my books are offered on Kindle. Yay! :)

The first book I wrote is called, Ripened on the Vine. My book is for anyone who has had a reason to give up, give in, or give out to a life of despair. It is a testimony of God's faithfulness through one girl's journey to find freedom from her past through forgiveness and vertical Faith in her God.  It's a must read if you need a little hope, inspiration, forgiveness, or need to forgive.  If you are struggling with your past, whether it's offenses that have been done against you, or offenses you have created yourself, you need to read this book!

There is  also a workbook available as a companion to the book Ripened on the Vine.

Choices are for the Living is a book about the choices that we make many times out of our emotions, opinions, and life experiences, not necessarily out of the fear of the Lord.  What would your life look like if you feared God more and man less?  What would you be doing for God right now if you did not tolerate fear in your life?  There is a workbook included inside this book. Get excited!

I also have a book of poetry entitled, From My Heart To Yours Devotional.  I love this book. It is filled with my most favorite pieces of poetry that God spoke into my heart from His. There is also I place where I have written commentary on the scriptures that I shared as a companion to the poetry I wrote. There is also a place for you to write down your thoughts and revelations as well.

Francis Chan is one of my personal favorite authors. The way he describes the Word of God is like you were sitting by a fire with Moses, Abraham, Noah, and King David.  Francis told their stories as if he were best friends with them and was reminiscing about their life together.  Remembering the Forgotten God, is a must read for anyone who wants to be challenged to an authentic relationship with part of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. The one no one talks about, but acknowledges in secret. Quote:  "Could it be that we've forgotten the One who distinguishes us from every other religion and cult in the world."  Francis Chan

I am reading a very interesting book as of this moment, it's called, A Year of Biblical Womanhood, by Rachel Held Evans.  Phyllis Tickle says, it's a bittersweet cocktail of wisdom and absurdity that will charm you, entertain you, seduce you, and, finally, instruct you!

Rachel tries to live a year of Biblical womanhood according to the Leviticus law.  She was tired of hearing people say around the water cooler, "Well, that isn't biblical."  She started thinking how many of us truly live a biblical life?  One thought lead to another and like a baby being conceived she soon gave birth to the book.  Rachel took each month and challenged herself to live out an Old Testament law.  I'm not done reading yet, but I had to let you know about my amazing find in this author. I have literally laughed out loud, put my hand over my mouth, and replied under my breathe to her extreme new living laws.  You will not be disappointed by the book, but you will be challenged to stop and think before you judge another person, because by the same measure you judge another person you will be judged.
